8 months after rescue, Ese Oruru returns to school

The family of 14-year-old Ese Oruru who was kidnapped married off but was rescued about eight months ago have finalized plans to return their daughter to school with Ese expected to resume studies as a first-year Senior Secondary School pupil in Delta State.

According to the parents of the teenager, they are happy she is returning to school and Ese is equally happy to begin studies after the sordid saga she went through when she was kidnapped, forced to convert to Islam, and forced into child marriage by Yunusa Dahiru, aka Yellow, on August 12, 2015 without the consent of her parents.

“She was excited when we informed her about it. She said she was so happy that she can now finally continue her education,” her mother, Rose Oruru, told our correspondent.

Reports say Ese has been doing well as a mother of a five-month-old baby girl, and she’s now enjoying life as a teenage mother with the help of her family after she gave birth at the Government Hospital, Yenagoa last May.
