Super Eagles striker, Alex Iwobi has said the Fennecs of Algeria must fall for Nigeria to remain on top of Group B of the 2018 World Cup African qualifiers.
“It is going to be one of the toughest matches we would play in this qualifier andwe are aware of this. So we have resolved to fight very, very hard and cover all the blades of the grass on the pitch to ensure we get victory against Algeria.
“Algeria is highly ranked in the continent but the Super Eagles are blessed with great players that are ready to shed their blood on the pitch if need be to get the needed victory and the three points that will make us top our group and eventually win the World Cup ticket at stake,” Iwobi said.

Meanwhile, Algeria quest to earn a good display against Nigeria suffered a setback as two of the country’s top defenders Hichem Belkaroui and Mehdi Tahrat suffered injury and are doubtful for the game billed for this Saturday in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.
Both players listed for the game are battling for fitness as Belkaroui playing for Esperance suffered a knock during their derby game against Club Africain while Tahrat is still struggling to feature for his French Ligue 1 club, Angers.
The trio of Hilal Soudani, Rachid Ghezzal and Adam Ounas are already ruled out of the game.
