Defeating Nasarawa Will Boost Our Confidence – Boboye

Kennedy Boboye, Plateau United coach, has revealed that the Peace Boys are targeting outright win against Nasarawa United in their season opener, noting that starting with a win would boost their confidence.

Boboye, who won the NPFL title last season with the club, explained that the Peace Boys were preparing very hard ahead of the Nasarawa match, saying that they take it as the final.

Boboye is optimistic of his team’s chances in all three competitions they will be involved this season.

“We are camped in Abuja and that is ahead of our first game against Nasarawa United. We know them and they know us and we also know every team will want to beat us now after winning the title last season; so, we are preparing like it is a final game and we know a win in our first game of the season will be a great boost for us,” he said.

Against all odds, Plateau United won the league for the first time last season, on the basis of which they, alongside MFM, will represent the country in this year’s CAF Champions League.

The club had signed a lot of players to bolster their squad ahead of the continental challenges and their defence of the domestic title.
