Benin – President Muhammadu Buhari has been called upon to consider those clamouring and calling for the restructuring of the country as advocate of peaceful co-existence among the various tribes in Nigeria.
The call, which was made by the coordinator, Oodua People’s Congress (OPC), Edo State chapter, Comrade Bright Omoviroro in a statement made available to journalists in Benin City, stated without mincing words that OPC has thrown its weight behind the clamour for restructuring.
The Gani Adams led OPC Coordinator stressed in the statement that “It is pertinent for President Muhammadu Buhari to listen to the voices of eminent Nigerians who have raised their voices in support of restructuring of Nigeria.
According to the group “The popular maxim’s opinion is Vox Populi, Voc Dei. The voice of the people is the voice of God. We are truly in support of the quest for restructuring and peaceful co-existence of all tribes in the country.
This is the current trend across the world and Nigeria is not an exception.” However, the group hereby expressed its sincere support for the paramount ruler of the Edo Kingdom, Oba of Benin, His Royal Majesty, Oba Ewuare II for projecting the cultural heritage of the kingdom.
Similarly, the group applauded the efforts of the state government under the administration of Godwin Obaseki for the transformation agenda of the government. “We urge all the citizens in the state to support the state government in his drive to tale Edo to its promised land.”
