Peace Returns To Oyede Community In Delta

Warri – Oyede Community in Isoko North Local Government Area of Delta State has settled for peace after the community was thrown into chaos over leadership transition tussle.

The community leadership crisis, which lasted for over two months as a result of divergent opinions, was settled by High Chief Iduh Amadhe, the president general of Isoko Development Union (IDU).

Our correspondent gathered that the president general of the community, Surv Akarogbe, could not handover because of chaotic situation that ensued on the last day of a three-day conference of the community.

A source within the community said : “The bone of contention was that, some persons wanted Akarogbe to continue for about year because of his sterling performance and complete some major projects while others wanted the constitution to be followed, which supports rotational presidency amongst the three quarters of Enuto, Ubieni and Ofagbe.
