Ramadan: Ashafa Urges Muslim To Pray For Peace, Prosperity

Senator Gbenga Ashafa

Lagos – As Muslims begin the Holy Month of Ramadan, Senator Gbenga Ashafa, Senator representing Lagos East Senatorial District, has urged the faithful to pray for the continued peace and prosperity of Nigeria.

In message made available to DAILY INDEPENDENT he enjoined all Muslim faithful to use this month of fasting to seek God’s intervention for the country.

“I join my fellow brothers and sisters of the Islamic faith in welcoming another Holy period of Ramadan in which Almighty Allah instructs all Muslim faithful to observe as a month of fasting.

“Allah prescribes fasting as an obligation for Muslims and tells us to restrain from evil, learn God’s consciousness, and learn to be God fearing,” the Senator said.

Ashafa stated further that it was time to pray for restoration of peace in all parts of the country that are troubled by various degrees of violence.

“Ramadan teaches us self-control, self-restraint, tolerance for one another irrespective of religion or tribe. It is also a month for extreme prayers, love and generosity.

“While using this period to share love, forgive and reflect spiritually, I implore us all to pray for the continued peace and prosperity of our dear country. It is my prayer that all our supplications and Ibada throughout this period be acceptable to Almighty Allah,” the Senator said.
