Solskjaer Being Tested For Full Time Job At Man United- Alan Shearer

OLE GUNNAR SOLSKJAER will be able to write his own full-time contract at Manchester United if they beat PSG, Chelsea and Liverpool this month.

That is the verdict of Premier League legend and pundit Alan Shearer.

The Norwegian has led United’s revitalisation since returning to Old Trafford.

Since the former Red Devils goalscorer’s appointment on an interim basis, Manchester United have won 10 of 11 games across all competitions.

The club are now in the midst of their extensive search to find Jose Mourinho’s long-term successor after his sacking back in December.

But the team’s incredible form under his leadership has led to calls for the 45-year-old to get the job permanently.

Beating Tottenham and Arsenal away in the Premier League and FA Cup respectively have been Solskjaer’s most impressive triumphs so far.

The fixture list has been largely kind to him so far, although fourth-placed United now have three successive huge tests against PSG, Chelsea and Liverpool in three different competitions.

However, if United win their Champions League round of 16 first leg, earn a place in the FA Cup quarter-finals at Stamford Bridge and damage Jurgen Klopp’s title hopes by beating their arch-rivals, Shearer insists the role is Solskjaer’s to take.

“If they do see off PSG and then finish in the top four, they will have to give Solskjaer the job full time in the summer,” Shearer wrote in his column for The Sun.

“The impact he has had has been amazing. It’s like a big dark cloud has been lifted.

“Solskjaer has improved every player’s performance by at least 20 per cent”

“If it had been just one player underperforming under Mourinho, he would have been sold.

“But almost all of the United team were and, aside from Alexis Sanchez, Solskjaer has improved every player’s performance by at least 20 per cent.

“From the moment Marcus Rashford scored that free-kick three minutes into Solskjaer’s first game at Cardiff, the confidence has been flowing back. It just takes that one goal and for something to change.

“And then, instead of thinking about things, you start to do things naturally, and you are trying things you weren’t willing to try before because you were petrified.
