This New Technology By INEC Will Checkmate Rigging In Ekiti Election, Check It Out
Ebenezer Osamo, Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti (GVE) – Any ploy by politicians to rig the 2018 governorship election in Ekiti State has been tackled even before the commencement of the voting process, Global Village Extra has gathered.
Ahead of the voting on Saturday, Professor Abdul-Ganiyu Raji Oluyinka, the Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) informed journalists in the state that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has attached tracking devices to each of the vehicles which distributed the election materials to each local government areas.
He noted that the new technology in place by INEC became necessary to avoid a repeat of election processes in previous years, where some parties felt aggrieved by the outcome of the results.
In a chat with journalists including GVE correspondent, Prof. Oluyinka explained that: “We are tracking it. If you want to see it, I can show you on my phone.
“The tracks that we have, I was seated there, monitoring, because they have two local governments each.
“As soon as they get to each of the local governments, I see that they have gotten there, I call the REC. We are at this local government and they have been confirming that.
“I have some screenshots that I captured.”
