The authorities of the University of Lagos have postponed the university’s convocation ceremonies over the ongoing strike by non-academic workers.
This was contained in a bulletin obtained by our correspondent on Tuesday.
Earlier, the workers under the aegis of Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities, the Non- Academic Staff Union of Universities and the Associated Institutions and the National Association of Academic Technologists, warned the UNILAG authorities to postpone the convocation ceremonies.
The bulletin read in part, “This is to bring to the attention of the University community and the general public that the 2016/2017 convocation ceremonies earlier scheduled to hold from Monday, February 19 to 22 has been postponed.
“This is as a result of the challenges posed by the on-going nationwide strike action by the Joint Action Committee of NASU, SSANU and NAAT.”
