Member representing Yagba East constituency in the Kogi State House of Assembly, Hon Jimoh Omiata has decamped from the PDP to the APC.

This came on the heels of the six members that took similar decision last week, with reasons hinged on the leadership crisis rocking their former party at both state and national level.

The Speaker, Hon Umar Ahmed Imam read his letter of defection during the plenary today.

From the recent deductions, the All Progressives Congress boasts of the majority with 17 members while the PDP has 8.

Meanwhile, the Member representing Omala Constituency who doubles as the Deputy Speaker, Hon Aliyu Akuh has resigned his position.

Hon Abdullahi Baiwa of Dekina/Okura constituency emerged the new Deputy Speaker of the Assembly.
