How the FBI Played a Central Role in the First ISIS Attack on U.S. Soil

Investigation finds an undercover agent encouraged a shooter in Garland to “tear up Texas.” It gets worse. The first attack on U.S. soil for which ISIS claimed responsibility—a 2015 shooting in Garland, Texas—was instigated by the FBI, according to an investigation by CBS’ “60 Minutes” and government documents obtained by an attorney involved in the…

Behind Trump’s Bloody War in Yemen: A Saudi Offensive Against Iran

The president pursues Obama’s policy, but without restraint. As war flares in Yemen, the civilian victims are among the first to feel the difference between President Obama’s Middle East war policy and Donald Trump’s. In Sana’a, the capital, thousands of people marched in protest this week calling for an end to the Saudi airstrikes that have been…

Fulani Herdsmen Genocide In The Benue Valley – Tiv Group Issues Statement

The attention of Vanguard Against Tiv Massacre, VATIM, has been drawn to various issues around the on-going killings in Benue State been perpetrated by miscreants we believe are Fulani herdsmen. We note with intense pains that those who are direct and collateral victims of this onslaught are innocent, law abiding, defenceless and harmless, peace-loving people of the Tiv ethnic nationality in particular and Benue state in general. Our heart stays with the victims and our brothers and sisters who have been affected in one way or the other since this crisis started. In this regard, we thought all the conventional means would be used by the security apparatus in the nation and the state to curtail this unwarranted bloodbath which have lingered for too long. This has not happened, at the moment. The result is that, our people have been left without any form of protection by the state thereby making them vulnerable to unprecedented level of danger. It is worthy of note that VATIM has emphasised on several occasions that, the recent crisis has so far resulted in over 600 reported cases of deaths in several communities in Buruku, Kwande, Agatu, Gwer East, Gwer West, Guma and Gboko, the worst hit been Buruku and Kwande local government areas with over 30,000 persons displaced and properties and livelihoods worth billions of naira completely destroyed. As if that was not enough, on Monday, 20th March 2017, Zaki Biam in Ukum local government area came under another fierce attack which left several scores dead with many injuries as well as loss of property that have not been comprehensively captured at the moment. While all these attacks on quiet communities, killings and wanton destructions are going on, the Tiv people in particular and Benue indigenes have restrained themselves to an unimaginable extent. But how further long this resilience will last is not immediately known as the terror victims don’t provoke the invading Fulani herdsmen. The questions we want to ask are: what is the essence of government if lives of the citizens are brazenly taken away with impunity? What have we done wrong for the state to allow the Fulani herdsmen to launch this genocide against our people? How long is this going to last? Will anyone blame us, if things get to a point that we are compelled to protect ourselves? Again, we reject the statement by the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association (MACBAN) on Saturday, 18th March, 2017 commiserating with attacked Benue communities as it is viewed by us as an open and blatant invitation to chaos, have we not further restrained ourselves. It is our total belief that, MACBAN have properly read, understood and can conveniently predict the body language of the powers that be,  in this matter. President Muhammadu Buhari’s alleged joke with Governor Samuel Ortom on Wednesday, March 15, 2017, during the Federal Executive Council, where while shaking hand with the governor, addressed him as ‘permanent trouble’ is viewed with seriousness and it is a joke taken too far and in fact unacceptable. As if that is not enough, yesterday, Tuesday, 21st March 2017, the special adviser to the president on media and publicity, Femi Adesina issued a press release in which he carelessly referred to the killings in Zaki-Biam as that perpetrated by unknown gunmen. We view these as  deliberate refusal by the Presidency to intervene for the blood letting of innocent and peace loving citizens of Benue to stop. For the avoidance of doubt, we want to make it known that if the senseless killings are allowed to continue, there would be famine in the land as the Tiv people known for farming cannot farm and the aim of the government to diversify the economy using agriculture would be defeated. In case it is not known, Benue State is the uniting force of the country and a threat to it is a threat to the entire national unity and configuration. We hope the Presidency and security agencies will urgently do the needful by provide security in the state to stop the dastardly acts of killing innocent souls. Delay is dangerous. Security agencies must bring perpetrators of the heinous acts to justice and concrete measures taken to heal our land as well as avert future occurrence. On the flip side, if this is allowed to continue,  we may have no option than to save ourselves through the ballot come 2019. Does the Trump Administration Want a Holy War Against Islam? It’s a Terrifying but Reasonable Guess

Click here for reuse options! Steve Bannon’s apocalyptic views are very close to those of ISIS, and Trump is surrounded by religious zealots. Absence Of The Butcher Of Aso Rock And Resurgence Of Tainted Saints

Absence Of The Butcher Of Aso Rock And Resurgence Of Tainted Saints In Nigeria: Nigerians Have Not Forgotten! “Tyranny or Dictatorship is not solely brought into existence in any political territory by an emerging leader with tyrannical or dictatorial intents; but it can only exist if the attentive segment of the public (i.e. top judicial officials, CSOs, rights activists, media, labour and professional bodies, etc), who are the harnessers, movers and modifiers of the un-attentive public (i.e. the masses) choose to slumber, compromise and turn service to humanity or social sainthood into merchandize or illicit business enterprise.” – Emeka Umeagbalasi, a Criminologist & Graduate of Security Studies, and Board Chair of Intersociety 2015 It is on account of the foregoing that the leaderships of International Society for Civil Liberties & the Rule of Law (Intersociety) and Southeast Based Coalition of Human Rights Organizations (SBCHROs) wish to decry strongly the resurgence of tainted saints in Nigeria, on account of the long absence of ailing President Muhammadu Buhari of Nigeria; notoriously known in the Southeast rights community and other social quarters as the Butcher of Aso Rock. By tainted saints, we mean a group of Nigerians with robust and compelling hybrid academic and social expertise who hitherto distinguished themselves as Nigeria’s mainstream rights activists and pro democracy CSOs’ leaders or Lagos School of Social Sainthood; but who unforgivably or unpardonably compromised and slumbered following the emergence of the atrocious administration of Retired Major Gen Muhammadu Buhari; which they conspiratorially installed. It is totally correct to say that their ignoble roles were responsible for the audacity and alacrity with which the atrocious Administration of Retired Major Gen Muhammadu Buhari embarked on butcheries of incomparable records and proportions as well as other forms of regime atrocities. For instance, under the leadership of a number of prominent members of the Lagos former School of Social Sainthood, the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) watched cowardly, leprously, and abominably while the atrocious administration of Retired Major Gen Muhammadu Buhari butchered over 1,000 unarmed and defenceless members of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria (IMN) and over 80 unarmed and defenceless members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and other Pro Biafra Campaigners. The periods of the butcheries took place between July 2015 and February 2016 when the said prominent Lagos former Social Sainthood School members were still holding sway as the NHRC leaders. As if that was not enough, the NHRC under the said leadership abominably issued a report indicting the IMN and disentangling the murderous Nigerian Army and its COAS. The said report was grossly in contradiction with the empirical findings of Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch and other leading local rights groups in Nigeria. During the 2015 General Elections, the NHRC and its referenced leadership patently became a branch of INEC and APC and virtually took over the judicial proceedings in the Rivers, Akwa Ibom and Cross River States’ Governorship Elections Tribunals. Nowhere in the NHRC’s records and archives, till date, contains a single press statement condemning the atrocious killing of unarmed and defenceless pro-Biafra campaigners including those who gathered at the National High School in Aba to clap and sing with their Bibles, chaplets, and Biafra flags. Till date all forms of regime atrocities pervading present the Buhari Administration have been condoned by the NHRC and members of the Lagos former School of Social Sainthood. Since the disappearance and absence of ailing President Muhammadu Buhari – THE BUTCHER OF ASO ROCK; these cowardly and tainted social saints have resurged and started speaking out. When their butcher-commander-in-chief was on the throne; they hardly talk or when they do, they speak from both sides of their mouths. Also when their grand paymaster was physically in-charge, they furnished same with technicalities and escape routes as they concerned mountainous regime atrocities of the former. They even held shallowly and falsely that “killing of pro-Biafra campaigners is not legally admissible at the ICC or that ICC has refused to admit or investigate same”. During their midwifery of National Human Rights Commission, Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission, among other federal government or public establishments in Nigeria or any part thereof; their human rights and service to humanity backgrounds were jettisoned and they turned themselves into business enterprisers; while their fellow rights activists were scorned and tagged “pathological noise makers and serial wailers”. Totality of these explains why they hardly speak their independent minds till date without their illicit funders reminding them of where, location and value of proceeds of their illicit business enterprises earned through bread and butter activism. As recently as few days ago, these cowardly and tainted social saints suddenly and noisily woke up from slumber and invaded Kuje Prison to shake hands with the same inmates they conspired to cocoon, cajole, and persecute. Certainly, phone calls must have rented the air before such leprous invasion was undertaken to confirm and ensure that “the Butcher of Aso Rock” will no longer come back and mount the Aso Rock throne. Our major reason of issuing this joint statement is not to deprive or prevent these Nigerians of their choice to probate and reprobate or turncoat; but to remind all Nigerians of the roles of same since July 2015 and prior to same. Nigerians have forgotten and will never forget! As for them too, events of the coming weeks will truly show them their level of falling and precipitation. In the current scheme of things in Nigeria’s human rights and pro democracy circles; we make bold to say that they are chronically aloof and will never be the same again!
