The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State, Mr Fatai Owoseni, has redeployed about 100 policemen to the premises of the Nigerian Breweries Plc, Iganmu, Lagos where an early morning fire razed a part of the company’s premises on Sunday. Owoseni told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that the deployment was meant to give adequate security cover to the company. The Police Commissioner explained that the policemen were deployed to hold back some miscreants who wanted to take advantage of the situation to enter into the company’s premises.

Tanzania and Nigeria’s Dangote Cement have reached a deal on the supply of natural gas to the firm’s manufacturing plant in the country after negotiations stalled over prices, Tanzanian President John Magufuli said on Saturday. The 500 million dollars cement factory in the southeastern-Tanzanian-town of Mtwara, set up last year with an annual capacity of three million tonnes, runs on expensive diesel-generators and has sought government-support to reduce costs. The plant was shut down recently on account of high energy costs and erratic power supply by the Tanzania electricity company.

Besides, the Governor said as part of his administration’s strategic plans for competitive advantage, female drivers and mechanics would be encouraged to study at the Benin Technical College after a complete retooling and rehabilitation. Obaseki made the disclosure in Benin on Monday at the graduation ceremony of 25 female mechanics students of Lady Mechanic Initiative, a non-governmental organisation, where he offered to engage female mechanics for the maintenance of government vehicles.
