MEN of the Delta State Police Command have arrested 74-year old Godwin Agbada for sexually abusing two under-age girls in his Asaba workshop and charged him with sexual offences.
Mr Agbada has blamed the devil for the alleged defilement of two girls aged 12 and 14 years in his workshop. Regretting his actions, he admitted to the offences but denied having carnal knowledge of another victim, Ebele Olise.
According to Mr Agbada, who is married with five children, both minors often came to his workshop to visit and he frequently gave them money. Asked if he could defend himself before his wife and children following his arrest, Mr Agbada said he could.
He added: “Yes, I fit look my children for face. I noh shame but I noh happy with wetin I do. Na devil make me do am.”
According to Celestina Kalu, the Delta State Police Command spokeswoman, Godwin Agbada, aged 74, a bicycle repairer of Morka Road, Ubiaruku, defiled a youngster in his workshop at Old Ubiaruku/Sapele Road, Ubiaruku by having unlawful carnal knowledge of her. He was subsequently arrested and a medical report has confirmed the commission of the offence.
