Flood Kills 4, Ravages 100 Communities In Niger

Flood has ravaged eight local government areas in Niger State with Lapai local government area recording four deaths even as Governor Abubakar Sani Bello called for federal government quick intervention to address various ecological challenges devastating several communities in the state.LEADERSHIP findings revealed that the eight local government areas devastated by the flood include Lapai, Shiroro, Muyan, Gurara, Bida. Lavun, Wushishi, Mokwa and Borgu.It was gathered that in Mokwa local government area, most of the communities and farmlands around Muregi,Lemfa Kuso, Gbogifu, Ketso and some neighbouring communities were washed away by flood as a result of overflow of the River Niger.
