the Ikeja under bridge, across Awolowo Way to kick start rally/ March in
memory of the late iconoclastic Pro-democracy leader who died September 5th
2009.

march from Ikeja to Ojota.

At the Cenotaph of Gani Fawehinmi the Chair of GAFAMOG Comrade Ayodele
Akele told the gathering that without the struggles of Gani Fawehinmi there
would never be an end to military rule in Nigerian, he further said without
the Ganis there would have been only three parties of the rich that the
masses would be forced to always choose from.

The President of Women Arise, Dr. Joe Okei-Odumakin said 7 years after:
Gani is still remembered for his doggedness & principled commitment for the
defence of the down trodden. She further asserted that Gani taught us how
to stand firm & demand for our rights.

Finally, that although, Gani died without realizing the Nigeria of his
dream, there is no gain saying the fact that things would have been worse
without his fights.

Others at the occasion also paid glowing tributes to the legal luminary who
was a great live wire of the human rights and pro-democracy movement in
Nigeria.
