Kogi Screening: Gov Bello Inaugurates Appeal Committee

In the bid to ensure that all genuine workers in the State Civil Service are cleared, and address complaints emanating from the recently submitted report of the Staff Verification and Complaints Review Committee, Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello has inaugurated a 32-members Appeal Committee.

The Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Petra Akinti Onyebule hinted that the appeal committee members who were inaugurated at the Governor’s Office in Lokoja, have been tasked to discharge their duties and submit their report in six weeks.
It would be recalled that the final report of the Complaint Review Committee cleared 43,522 , classified 32,753 workers as uncleared and 8,879 as ghost workers.
According to Petra, the newly inaugurated committee will provide a soft landing for the uncleared workers.
“The 32-member Committee comprising representation from public service, labour union, civil society organijzation in the State has been charged to discharge their duties with utmost sense of responsibility.
“The Committee shall be headed by the Administrative Staff College of Nigeria (ASCON) and reports directly to the Governor,” she said.
