Nigeria is no 10 in UN’s first global out-of-school children ranking

Nigeria is number 10 in the list of countries in the world with the highest proportion of children missing out on primary school education with 34 per cent of its children not having the opportunity of stepping inside a classroom, the United Nations said on Thursday. Liberia has the highest proportion of children missing out on primary school education, with nearly two-thirds of its children never stepping inside a classroom in UNICEF’s first global out-of-school ranking in which African countries hit by conflict featured prominently. South Sudan was joint second with Eritrea on the list.
