The Kogi State government has approved the appointment of Alhaji Danjuma Bello Ibrahim as the state’s Amir hajj for the 2018 pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia.
The appointment letter which was signed by the Secretary to the Kogi State Government, Dr Ayoade Folashade Arike, said Governor Yahaya Bello, approved Ibrahim’s appointment based on his hardwork, experience and commitment to religious matters in the state.
She charged him to be dedicated in the discharge of his assignment to enable the state have a hitch free hajj operation.
Reacting, the newly appointed Amir hajj, commended Governor Yahaya Bello for the confidence reposed in him and promised not to let the government down.
He promised to reposition the entire hajj operations in the state to meet the yearnings of Muslim pilgrims and ensure they get value for their money.
The newly appointed Amir hajj is a member of the Kogi State Inter-religious Council/Jamaatul Nasril Islam (JNI) and had served as chairman of the defunct Muslims’ Pilgrims Board in the state for about nine years.
