Monarch Tasks NBA On Peace, Security

A traditional ruler in Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area, has described the Nigeria Bar Association (NBA).as an epitome of peace and justice, and the last hope of the common man, and charged members of the association  not to stand aloof and watch the society deteriorate and soak in iniquities perpetrated by powerful people.
The traditional ruler of Egi clan in Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area, His Majesty King Prof. Anele Uzondu Nwokoma, who stated this in his palace at Erema, when a delegation of Nigeria Bar Association (NBA), Omoku branch, paid him a courtesy visit pointed out that the society cannot do without the services of lawyers in dispensation of justice.
Towards this end, Prof. Nwokoma said the present precarious security challenges in the local government area should attract the attention of the local branch of the association.
“You can do this, by using your professional expertise to ensure that peace returns, that property and lives are protected, this is greatest service you owe yourselves, humanity and  God”.
Expressing his appreciation for the visit, the Monarch urged them to put in motion a machinery through which upcoming lawyers could prosper to the ranks of Senior Advocates, Magistrates and Judges, and gave his royal blessings to them to grow to the highest levels of their chosen profession.
He also used the occasion to felicitate with the entire Rivers people, and the Governor, Ezebunwo Nyesom Wike, on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the creation of the state.
Earlier, the chairman of the Association, Mr. Richard Nwokocha, had said the visit was not only to felicitate with the traditional ruler on the anniversary of Rivers at 50,  but also to express their appreciation on his support and attendance during the inauguration of the body.
“We are impressed by your deep knowledge of tradition despite your academic heights, proving correctly, long time theory that only philosophers should be kings”
Nwokocha disclosed that the association has over 60 members, adding that though very young, it has made significant achievements in issues relating to  peace in the area.
